Free MEND programmes for overweight children in London

Jubilee Hall Trust is running two more 10-week MEND programmes for overweight children starting in September. Programmes will be running at Carlton School in Camden and the Colombo Centre in Southwark and are aimed at children aged 7-13 and their parents.

The programmes have been funded by the Big Lottery and are completely free to the families. They offer a chance to learn about healthy eating and the benefits of exercise. Jubilee Hall Trust was originally contracted to deliver 14 programmes over two years and these are the last two in the series, but it has just been announced that more funding is likely to become available so that these highly successful programmes can continue in 2011.

Independent research recently concluded that MEND offered excellent value for money as well as results when compared with other similar interventions. More information please visit www.mendprogramme.org
